Famed cartoonist Charles M. Shulz’s Peanuts characters were featured in an animated TV program called A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965. The show won an Emmy and a Peabody Award.

Jazz composer, Vince Guaraldi, wrote the music for A Charlie Brown Christmas. More than 50 years later, the soundtrack album for A Charlie Brown Christmas remains a bestseller. We invite you to come and enjoy our rendition of Vince Guaraldi’s great music at our concert on December 4th.

Writer and professor Clement Clark Moore wrote the poem for his children on Christmas Eve in 1822. ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas remains the most published and read book in all of Christmas literature.

Theodocia Provue Burr, wife of The Aaron Burr, and one the original owners of The Hermitage, was a second cousin of Clement Clarke Moore.

Supposedly, composer Leroy Anderson was digging in the yard of his Woodbury Connecticut home looking for water pipes during a heat wave in 1946. As he labored in the heat, his thoughts led to thoughts of winter and snow and then into an idea about racing over the countryside in a horse-drawn sleigh.

The result was Sleigh Ride, which has become one of the most performed and recorded pieces in the history of Western music.

Who is that distinguished looking man with the baton in his hand pictured to the left? It is Anthony LaGruth, Music Director of the Glen Rock Pops. An article featuring Mr. LaGruth recently appeared in the November 18th issue of the Glen Rock Gazette, and we are informed that more information about Mr. Lagruth will be forthcoming on Banana Tree News.

Anthony delights audiences at Glen Rock Pops concerts. Come enjoy his narrations, charm and charisma at our December 4th Concert.
