The Glen Rock Board of Education has named Tina Bacolas as assistant principal of Glen Rock High School effective Sept. 1, 2017. The board voted on her appointment at its regular meeting on June 26. She is currently with the Park Ridge School District as supervisor of Instructional Technology.

Bacolas replaces Michael Pasciuto who resigned at the end of the 2016-17 school year, having served as GRHS assistant principal since July 1, 2015.

According to GRHS Principal John Arlotta, “Ms. Bacolas emerged as the top candidate in a very competitive field of over 150 applicants.  Tina’s background in technology, particularly as a Schoology trainer will be advantageous to GRHS as we launch two huge technology initiatives:  a one-to-one laptop program and a new Learning Management System.  I look forward to working with Tina and having her join our team!”

Bacolas has been with the Park Ridge School District since 2014, where she led instructional technology initiatives at the middle and high school level, including in-class support, professional development and collaborative teaching. Bacolas was Instructional Technology coach in the Vernon Township School District from September of 2013 to June of 2014. Prior to that, she spent five years on the faculty of Morris County School of Technology as a Biology teacher.

Bacolas earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Virginia Tech and her NJ Teaching Certificate via New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey in May, 2009. She went on to earn her master’s in Educational Technology from New Jersey City University in July, 2014.

Glen Rock High School currently serves 770 students in grades 9 to 12.
