1:23 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Fairview Avenue, P.O. John Tarantino arrested two individuals on drug related charges.

A 21-year-old Ramsey woman was charged with possession of cocaine, marijuana under 50 grams and drug paraphernalia. She was processed at Police HQ and released on her own recognizance pending an appearance before Superior Court Central Judicial Processing in Hackensack on July 7th.

A 26-year-old Ramsey man was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and drug paraphernalia. He was processed at Police HQ and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal court on July 18th.

6:42 PM – A Cornwall Road resident reported finding damage to her front door in the form of a broken exterior screen and neon green paint on the inner door. The damages appear to have been caused by paintball pellets. A family member heard what he thought was someone knocking at the front door around 4PM but did not go to the door. There are no known witness nor other reported paintball incidents.

9:51 PM – A 27-year-old Ridgewood man was detained by the Ridgewood Police Department on a warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $500, he was taken into custody by Sgt. Rob Wojtecki and P.O. John Tarantino and transported to the Bergen County Jail.

11:05 AM – A Warren Place resident reported that a UPS package containing a bracelet valued at $270 was taken from the front steps of his home. According to UPS tracking information the package had been delivered on June 19th.

9:45 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Route 208, P.O. Nick Onove arrested a 25-year-old Paterson man who had an active warrant issued by the Elmwood Park Municipal Court. The man was transported to Police HQ where he posted $89 bail and was released.

10:03 AM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Lincoln Avenue, P.O. Annamarie Mattina arrested a 57-year-old Paterson man who had an active warrant issued by the Hawthorne Municipal Court. Unable to post $500 bail the subject was turned over to the custody of the Hawthorne Police Department.

12:06 PM – A Broad Street resident reported $176 worth of unauthorized charges on her Captial One Credit Card. The fraud had been detected by Captital One and the credit card was cancled. The matter has been referred to the detective bureau for review.
07-01-2017

2:12 PM – The owner of a Maple Avenue Salon reported receiving a phone call from an individual falsely claiming to represent PSE&G. The complainant was advised that if the business did not make a payment in the amount of $861.17 the gas and electric would be discontinued immediately. He was instructed to drive to the nearest CVS/ Walgreens and purchase 2 Green Dot Money Pack cards to make payment. He did so and provided the card verification numbers to the fraudulent representative. The matter has been referred to the detective bureau for investigation.

PSE&G will never demand a specific type of payment and threaten immediate service termination. If you receive a call directing you to go to a local store to purchase a pre-paid card to pay your bill, it is likely a scam. If you receive a strange call and are in doubt, hang up and call PSE&G at the phone number listed on your PSE&G bill.

9:45 PM – During the course of a motor vehicle stop on Harristown Road, P.O. Murray Yang arrested a 23-year-old Bronx, NY man who was wanted by the Fort Lee Municipal Court on a warrant with $405 bail. The man was detained until the Fort Lee Police Department advised that they did not have the resources to respond. He was therefore ordered released on his own recognizance with a new court date.
