06-05-2017

9:05 AM – An accounting firm with offices on Lincoln Avenue reported the theft of mail from outside their office door.  An envelope had been opened and a check for $965 removed.  No witnesses or other evidence was recovered.  There is no record of an attempt to cash the check. A stop payment notice was filed with the bank and the issuing account was closed.

06-06-2017

8:06 PM –  A Rock Road resident reported that his son’s bicycle, valued at about $500, was discovered to be missing from his garage.  It was last seen on or about May 20th. The complainant believes that it was stolen.  There are no known witnesses or evidence.

5:35 PM –  During the course of a motor vehicle stop on De Boer Drive, Det. Mike Trover arrested a 49-year-old Haskell man who was wanted by the Morris County Superior Court on a no bail contempt warrant as well as a warrant issued by the Ringwood Municipal Court with $3,000 bail.  The man was also arrested for hindering apprehension after he attempted to evade arrest by giving Det. Trover a false name.  After being processed at police HQ the man was turned over to the custody of the Morris County Sheriff’s Department.

11:54 AM –  The owner of a Rock Road nail salon reported receiving a customer’s check in the amount of $265.00 which was returned by the bank due to insufficient funds.  The business owner was provided with information on the legal requirements to pursue a bad check complaint through the Municipal Court.

6:01 PM –  During the course of a motor vehicle stop, along Maple Avenue, P.O. Sarah Orsita arrested a 33-year-old Prospect Park woman on an active warrant issued by the Hawthorne Municipal Court.  The woman was transported to Police HQ where she was released after posting $500 bail.
